Enemy Rose

Enemy Rose
What originally started as a short jam session, ended in a marvelous mayhem when "Sammy 7o" and "Tommy X" (both from The Heartaches) decided to work on some songs they had been playing for years between the two of them because these songs didn't suite The Heartaches. They got in contact with "Martellotto", a young drummer with a shit load of talent. From the first time they hooked up, all parties were convinced of the greater good - ENEMY ROSE was born. On their last european tour with the heartaches Tommy X and Sammy 7o had come across a band from berlin "RADIO DEAD ONES" with an amazing guitarist called "Rik Oldman" When Enemy Rose came up, they contacted Rik and told him that he was the man for the job. Rik gladly accepted. "Andru Bourbon" Radio Dead Ones' bassplayer also joined ENEMY ROSE a few months later.

Champ d'Action

Champ D'action was founded in 1988 by composer Serge Verstockt. Each year Champ d'Action creates one of more unique new productions involving collaboration with composers and performers from highly diverse backgrounds. The common thread among these projects is the focus on quality, experiment, the use of electronics and the visual treatment. Champ d'Action gives concerts each year at international and national venues and festivals. Aside from the strong ties with the work of artistic director and composer Serge Verstockt, Champ d'Action has created works by composers including Luc Brewaeys, Stefan Van Eycken, Annelies Van Parys, Peter Swinnen, Paul Craenen, Stefan Prins, Tim Vets and David Nunez.

Mo & Grazz

Mo & Grazz
Emotional impact, that's what Mo & Grazz are going for. No talk of "bitches" and "bling bling" here, but a refreshing view on what really matters. Mo (full name Monique Harcum) and Grazz (aka DJ Grazzhoppa) met in August 2003 in the States. She was singing at that time with the Grammy nominated "Afropean" hip hop/R & B duo Les Nubians, he was DJing with the equally intercontinental artist Zap Mama. Their tours came together and the two hit it off. Grazz, from Bruges and educated in hip hop, Monique born in the city of Philadelphia, source of the wall-to-wall Philly sound (Gamble & Huff!) A (musical) match made in heaven, although writing and creating together only came after the romantic interest. The track records of Mo&Grazz each are no less than impressive. Monique was influenced by the likes of Sam Cooke, Gladys Knight & The Pips and Aretha Franklin. She toured with Zap Mama and Grammy Award winning R&B artist Jill Scott and can be heard on the live album, %u201EExperience Jill Scott. Grazz became European DMC Champion in 1991 and third in the ITF World DJ Championships in 1998. He worked in the theatre, in the studio and on stage with De Puta Madre, Zap Mama, Wizzards Of Ooze, Marakbar, Blade, Mr. Greedy, Anne Theresa De Keersmaker, Abdelazziz Sorrokh, Dirk Verstockt & Lazara Albear Tossel, Aka Moon, Mark Ribot, David Shea, Jaki Liebezeit to name but a few. Grazz has released about 100 records on vinyl and CD and is a widely respected name in the European hip hop underground. He recently took his love of experiment another step further with DJ Grazzhoppa%u201As DJ Bigband, a turntable extravaganza featuring 12 DJ%u201As, vocals by Monique and the collaboration of sax player Fabrizio Cassol. In their home base Gent, Mo & Grazz have shaped their debut album, which was recorded and mixed in Studio Caraïbes in Brussels under the productional guidance of Denis Moulin and with a host of guest musicians in the wings. Hearts are about to be seduced, souls are waiting to get captured. Stay tuned for more Mo & Grazz.

Vermin Twins

Vermin Twins

Turntable Dubbers

Turntable Dubbers
With four hands on two decks and a lot of bravado, Timaxx & Drezz bring you a steamy blend of dub, roots, reggae, breax and jungle, ragga, afro-, balkan- and latin-beats and other pieces of funkiness. Uptempo irie indeed.

Their biographies (see below) can merely hint at it, but their knowledge of history of dance and world music -in particular of the bonds that tie those two together- is immense, as are their DJ skills and their love for a jolly good party.

The Dubbers often take things to the musical underground, and then they'll make sure that their set appeals to the sometimes rather peculiar tastes of its inhabitants. But fear not, ye megafestival organiser. The Turntable Dubbers can turn into demagogic jocks as well because at heart, they are true populists who just love to please the crowd.

In any case, they will always give you one hell of a party, carefully adding yet another beat or spaced-out echo to their musical mélange. This blend of styles is cooked to a climactic frenzy which will bring the audience to the very edge of rapture. Needless to say, they will also bring it shortly -sweaty, steamy et all- to your beer taps.

The Freestylers, Daddy G (Massive Attack), Max Sedgley, Discobar Galaxie, Arsenal and Krafty Kuts -not the sort of people you'll ever find far away from either a beer tap or a turntable- looked upon the Dubbers and saw they were, well, damn funky.

In order to add even more flavour to their sets, they collaborate with several mc's and live musicians such as sax player Funky Frenic (Humb!), MC Six (Skeemz/Galaxie Gangbang Soundsystem) and MC Junior Fragga (Uphill Sound) and P-Bone (Percussion) to spice up their act on stage. You might come to the conclusion that all this might very well result in some tracks- and subsequent releases- of their own. Well, you wouldn't be too wrong ...
