Abused MuSick: Venetian Snares, Mr Kill, Dylan, Tymon, Bryan Fury, MKL, ...
Abused MuSick - trash!
hardcore drum'n'bass, industrial, dubstep, ...

Venetian Snares (Can): al tien jaar geluidsterrorist.
Zijn jongste plaat 'My So Called Life' verscheen vorig jaar op Planet Mu/Funk: stepping back from the brink of brutalized acid back towards the go-for-broke breakcore he made his name on. Klinkt als: playing jungle at a French speedcore party.
No posers, no cameraphones!

Plus plus plus:
Mr. Kill aka rotator (Fr, Peace Off), Dylan (USA, Freak, Outbreak), Tymon (Au, Industrial Strength), Bryan Fury (UK, Pacemaker, Deathchant), MKL (Fr, Peace off), Igneon System (Be, Rebelscum, Agnost1k, MuSick) en Mr Orange (Be, Abused Recordings).

Counterstrike

Counterstrike
Counterstrike (Algorythm Recs/Obscene Recs/Moving Shadow Recs/Renegade Hardware/Barcode Recs/Evol Intent Recs) also known as Animal Chin and 500 Mills, have been active drum 'n bass DJ's on the club/rave circuit since the mid Nineties playing all over South Africa and abroad in countries like Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Lithuania, Portugal, England, Germany, Norway, Poland, Belgium, Holland, Austria, Denmark, Hungary, Slovakia, Switzerland and the USA.

Counterstrike has been producing drum 'n bass as a collective since 1998. They've had over 40 12" vinyl releases on various high profile labels and re-launched their own imprint, Algorythm Recordings, internationaly in 2005. Apart from their busy production schedule they still find the time to regularly perform abroad. 2009 saw them DJ in 18 countries.

Their musical sound can be described as a cunning blend of sharp jungle-beats and basslines combined with high-range trance-ish leads.

The Panacea

The Panacea
Mathis Mootz, the teutonic mastermind and producer behind The Panacea from Wuerzburg, Germany, has developed and perfected his sinister drum and Bass mashup style over the years. The Panacea is the digital Napalm Death, fueled by wreck-step beats, he samples and generally throws together elements of hardcore techno, drum'n'bass, jungle and industrial into his unique explosive sound.

As one of the dominant faces of the German Position Chrome Label he has released 23 ep's and 5 albums since 1996. His debut 'Low Profile Darkness' was one of his most influential works to date, and a huge success with over 12,000 copies sold. Others followed like the techno and hardcore influenced 'Twisted Designz','Phoenix Metabolism' with it's hip hop and booty bass roots, the enormous 'German Engineering' and 'Underground Superstardom', and the experimental and noisy 'Architettura'.

His experimental, electro, and neo-industrial beats were produced under the aliases of Squaremeter, Disorder, Warfare, Kate Mosh, Bad Street Boy, Radar and Rich Kid. These productions landed on labels like Mille Plateaux, Ant-Zen, Hands Productions, Ambush, Ad Noiseam, Kniteforce, Intransigent and Outbreak to name a few.

The rebirth of Position Chrome, and the launch of close friend Raidens' Offkey Recordings, marks the start for awesome collaborations and heavy tuneage in the future. The Panacea has recently joined the Anger Management DJ roster, and will be releasing this year on Dylan's mighty Freak Recordings.

Motor

Motor
3). The more recent act called MOTOR (note the caps) is Mr. No and Bryan Black. They first released music under this name in 2003. Their label's hype says "MOTOR is totally un-compromised music that deliberately breaks any musical restrictions or sound barriers. Electronic music practising a punk ethic, MOTOR is unlike anything else: abrasive, strangely melodic, pulsing like a machine. A sound, which by no mistake, has put them in a class of their own." Killing Joke

Killing Joke
Killing Joke are an English post-punk group which formed in October 1978 in Notting Hill, London, England. (Several sources state that they formed in early 1979.) Founding members Jaz Coleman (vocals, keyboards) and Geordie Walker (guitars) have been the only constant members. A key influence on industrial rock, their early music was described by critics Stephen Thomas Erlewine and John Dougan as well as industrial metal[16] and "quasi-metal ... dancing to a tune of doom and gloom," which gradually evolved over the years, incorporating elements of electronic music, synth-pop, gothic rock, and alternative rock, though always emphasizing Coleman's "savagely strident vocals." Finding modest commercial success, Killing Joke have influenced many later bands, such as Nirvana, Ministry, Amen, Lamb of God, Nine Inch Nails, Napalm Death, Amebix, Big Black, Godflesh, Tool, Prong, Metallica, Primus, Jane's Addiction, Soundgarden, Foo Fighters, Faith No More, Blacklist, Shihad and Korn, all of whom have at some point cited some debt of gratitude to Killing Joke.

"Veteraan die al releaste toen hij nog op school zat. Mee bepalend voor de ontwikkeling van de hele electronische muziekscene, waar in die context vooral naar zijn groep Atari Teenage Riot wordt verwezen. Straffe man Trent Reznor van Nine Inch Nails is grote fan van de ""digital hardcore"" van Empire, en hij niet alleen."

I started buying records at the age of five (1983 - Thriller that is). My father was into electro wave back then so I grew up listening to Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, Front 242, Dave Ball... To be honest, these robotic sounds really scared the shit out of me. As soon I discovered Public Enemy in 1988 my passion for hip hop became big. With the help of dj Murdock and dj 4t4, who were the older kids in my school, I learned a lot about hip-hop. When I first witnessed the videoclip "On" from Aphex Twin in 1993 I threw myself into electronic music (names like Autechre, Reload, Plastikman, the Black Dog, Biosphere). I bought my first Technics in 2002 and four months later I had my first gig at Modfest at the Muziekodroom (with Ladytron and Red Snapper). Then I met the World Invaders & I started organising the Dominion parties at The Zoo (Hasselt). In the past I have played at Festivibe, Modfest (3 times), Body to Body, Breakdown (Ed & Kim's concept), 3 years La Fete, the Kaaiman (Antwerp), The Zoo, Casino (Genk), Recyclart, Bazaar, Le Gazon (Brussels) with acts and dj's like The Hacker, Tom Barman, Jimi Tenor, Vive La Fete, Dj Tiga, Neon Judgement, Ed & Kim, Felix the Housecat etc... My style of mixing is very eclectic and full of energy. I like to play old skool electrofunk, wave, Hacienda classics, old skool hip hop, Italo, 80's smashers, electrohouse, rock, new beat, synth pop, miami bass... No dj-rules at all. Besides playing party records, I make mixes with "hard to mix records". These contain speed metal, 70's, trip hop, underground mash-ups, electro rarities, funk, rock'n roll,..
