Discobar A Moeder / Discoteca (My Cousin Roy, ...)
My Cousin Roy woont in New York City en bestuurt van daaruit Wurst Records.

Ondertussen in De Andere Zaal:

schaamteloos vertier, geniepig plezier en dansend gezwier

Discobar A Moeder: dé discobar van dé stad aan dé Schelde is top of the bill én headliner tegelijkertijd.

Top of the pops 2!

Shameboy, Danger, Fenech-Soler

Junior Boys

Junior Boys
A Hamilton, Ontario-based electronic pop group, Junior Boys began as a duo with its duties split between Jeremy Greenspan and Johnny Dark. Influenced by a number of music sectors %u2014 including arty synth pop, minimal techno, U.K. garage, and contemporary hip-hop %u2014 they made a demo with no positive results. Dark opted to leave the group, but former Warp employee Nick Kilroy eventually heard the songs and became interested enough to begin his KIN label with Junior Boys as its first artist. Engineer Matt Didemus joined Greenspan, and together they recorded enough material for a full-length. Prior to the 2004 release of the resulting album, titled Last Exit, a pair of 12" singles were released %u2014 one included a remix from Fennesz, while the other featured a remix from Manitoba (now Caribou). Three months after Last Exit's initial U.K. release, Domino picked up the album for distribution in the U.S. The Domino version added a bonus disc with B-sides and remixes from the 12" releases. The relatively slick So This Is Goodbye followed in 2006. The single "In The Morning" was featured in an iTunes commercial in 2007. On July 10, 2007, Junior Boys second album was revealed as being on the shortlist for the 2007 Polaris Music Prize. They did not ultimately win the prize. In September 2008, Morgan Geist's album "Double Night Time" was released with five songs performed by Jeremy Greenspan. On April 7, 2009, the duo released their third full length album, Begone Dull Care on Domino records.

Plastic Operator

Plastic Operator
Mathieu Gendreau (electronics) & Pieter Van Dessel (vocals / electronics) are Plastic Operator. Respectively hailing from Montreal and Antwerp, the pair met at London's Westminster University in 2001 where they were both studying audio production. Bonding over a shared love of two decades of fine electronic and indie music the pair began to make sweet music together. When the course finished Pieter returned to Antwerp to work on sound design for film and play in a few bands, and Mathieu remained in London to work as a sound engineer and record producer, working with a broad cross-section of the UK's musical talent. The pair kept up their collaborative efforts over the internet, meeting face to face in either London or Antwerp once a month. In 2004, their efforts came to fruition when then the pair released their debut three track CD through a handful of record shops, with Rough Trade making it their CD of the week. Once the tracks were out there in the public domain, things accelerated at a pace no-one could have predicted. The lead track from the CD, 'Folder', had been posted on a web blog, and within weeks Plastic Operator were receiving emails from fans in New York, Mexico City and Bangkok enquiring about the group. Radio stations as far apart as California, New Zealand and Tijuana began championing the song. In London Radio 1's Rob Da Bank began playing the track on his Blue Room show, eventually signing the track to his Sunday Best label. Plastic Operator have just released their debut album, "Different Places", on May 14, 2007 on Fine Day Records in Europe. The album will be out in Japan on P-Vine/Fine Day Records on 5th October 2007.

Joakim

Joakim
Joakim is a French modern electronic music artist. Multi talented and well-cultivated, he has released two audacious albums on Versatile Records (Tigersushi in 1999 and Fantomes in 2003) and founder of Label and Proteinic website Tigersushi. Joakim Bouazziz has always been involved in music. He learned piano at age six, with master concertist Abdel Rahman El Bacha. During his teenage years he discovers indie rock and appreciates labels such as Warp and Mo Wax. He discovered a passion for electronic sound after a school-friend left a synthesiser in Joakim's room. The electronic nature of the synth opened up a new realm of possibilities for musical creativity, and after a few months of prolific creation and sending demos to Gilb'R, the label manager decided to produce his album on Future Talk [a more experimental divison of Versatile]. What followed was a brilliant and amusing album with many references to 60s modal jazz, through which Joakim displayed his ability to manipulate electronic composition in an new and original way. Tigersushi was soon spotted and Joakim, who used then the moniker 'Joakim Lone Octet' stood as an intriging loner in the electronic music landscape. One year later, musicians such as 4Hero, Next Evidence and DJ Medhi revisited his first album in the 'Tigersushi Remixed' album. In 2001 he founded his own label under the suprising name Tigersushi and produced projects by K.I.M., Panico, Principles of Geometry, Volga Select, Max Berlin and the infamous compilation 'More God Dam Music' (MGDM)

My Robot Friend

My Robot Friend
My Robot Friend is no ordinary electro act. This is no ordinary act full-stop. Whereas science fiction (and indeed robots) have always played a part in the presentation and mythology of techno and electronic music, the figure on stage is far from being cliché. Looking like a character from the 80's computer-enhanced film Tron tangled up with a well-lit Christmas tree, My Robot Friend ambles around in front of his audiences powered by a neon-lit 30 pound battery pack.

Le Matos

Le Matos
LE MATOS is a Canadian trio from Montreal. Their music is a powerful dancemachine, mix of pop melodies and melancholic new wave, inspired by movie soundtrack composers such as Vangelis or Carpenter and electronic artists like Kraftwerk, Daft Punk or Giorgio Moroder. Their live sets are always a strong experience for the audience. They play real live electronic music, using lots of different machines as mythic Moog or DX7 synthesizers. They have shared the stage with Boys Noize, Shadow Dancer, DIM, Adam Freeland, Evil 9....
They also remixed Coeur De Pirate (released on Barclay in France), Delphic (Kitsuné), We Have Band and many more...

Coming from all 3 corners of Quebec, Jean-Nicolas, Jean-Phillipe and Maxime have quickly established themselves as the new ambassadors of local electro. In just over a year they have gone from completely unknown to playing in front of thousands of people, whether it was at Igloofest or more recently at the I Love NEON 10 year anniversary.

- Le Matos is slang for "The Equipment" in french.
- All members of the group emanate from the hardcore scene and could be described as straight edge (no alcohol, no drugs).
- Their first and only official release is 88mph on Saboteur Records.

Fenech Soler

Fenech Soler
Fenech-Soler is a band from Kings Cliffe, United Kingdom, playing electronic music. The band consists of Ross Duffy, Ben Duffy, Daniel Soler & Andrew Lindsay. Apart from recording their own tunes, they are known for their remixing work, most notably and recently the song 'Hollywood' by Marina & the Diamonds. They have been gaining much attention on both sides of the Atlantic, not to mention a lot of critics' appraisal. To date, they have released two singles: The Cult Of Romance and Lies, both available on iTunes. Recently, the band's vocalist Ben Duffy was featured on the track Paper Romance by Groove Armada taken from their latest album Black Light.

Filthy Dukes

Filthy Dukes
Filthy Dukes are an electronic band from London, UK. Filthy Dukes were originally the duo, Olly Dixon and Tim Lawton. For the past five years they have deejayed around the world and promoted a club night called Kill Em All at fabric in London. Olly and Tim were joined by record producer Mark Ralph in 2005. They started remixing and producing music together, and signed to Fiction records in January 2008. They have been influenced by contemporaries such as Hot Chip, Simian Mobile Disco, Soulwax, and by older bands such as Can, Tangerine Dream and Roxy Music. Filthy Dukes produce all their music on the mixing desk originally built by the producer and Krautrock legend Conny Plank. They released their debut single Tupac Robot Club Rock in November 2008. The track features rappers Plastic Little and remixes by Oliver $, L-VIS 1990, and Plastic Little. The Filthy Dukes debut album is entitled 'Nonsense In The Dark' and was released on the 16th March 2009. It was preceded by the single This Rhythm on the 9th March 2009. The album showcases Filthy Dukes%u2019 unique, analogue electro-indie-kraut-pop. A host of great artists also lend guest vocals to the album including Samuel Dust (Late of the Pier), Orlando Weeks (The Maccabees), Brandon Curtis (Secret Machines), Tommy Sparks, frYars, Plastic Little, Foreign Islands, To My Boy, and Mauro Remiddi (Sunny Day Sets Fire). Filthy Dukes are in-demand remixers with recent commissions for Late Of The Pier, Bloc Party, White Lies, Kevin Rudolf, Operahouse, Heloise & The Savoir Faire, The Rakes, Temper Trap and Vagabond.
