The Baboons zijn vier twintigers uit Turnhout die toch al een vijftal jaren meedraaien aan de top van de Belgische roots en rock 'n' roll scene. Niet toevallig uit Turnhout, stad die door het jaarlijkse druk internationaal bezochte Rockin' Around Festival de naam van 'Biggest Belgian Rock 'n' Roll Town' kreeg. The Baboons brengen een eigenzinnige mix van rootsrock, country, boogie, rhythm 'n' blues, swing en rockabilly. Piepjong nog, stonden ze op het Belgian Rhythm 'n' Blues Festival in Peer. Intussen speelden The Baboons op festivals in heel Europa, zoals vorig jaar op de Hotrod Hayride in Surrey (UK), de Rockabilly All-Nighter in Hamburg en High Rockabilly in Barcelona (SP). In de volgende maanden zijn ze geboekt voor o.m. de Rhythm Riot in Sussex (UK) en de Rockin' Race Jamboree in Malaga (SP). De Turnhoutse rockers deelden ook het podium met legendes als The Blasters of Bo Diddley en brachten vorig jaar hun eerste full CD uit. 'Boogie Curse' bestaat grotendeels uit eigen nummers, ging vlot van de hand en kreeg al snel een tweede druk.

The Supersuckers are an American garage punk band. They are the self-proclaimed "Greatest Rock 'n' Roll Band in the World." Following the relative success of their 1997 foray into country music with the release of Must've Been High, they have also been known to play country shows under various names, including, of course, The Supersuckers. As of April 2005, the members are Eddie Spaghetti on bass and lead vocals along with Rontrose Heathman and Dan "Thunder" Bolton on guitars. Drummer and original member Dancing Eagle recently parted ways with the band while guitarist Dan "Thunder" Bolton is on temporary hiatus. But now he is back after taking a long needed break from the road. Dusty from Agent Orange handled drums for a bit, but the new, permanent drummer is Scott Churrilla from The Reverand Horton Heat. The Supersuckers formed in 1988 as The Black Supersuckers in Tucson, AZ. The original line-up was Eddie Spaghetti on bass, Dan "Thunder" Bolton and Rontrose Heathman on guitars, Dancing Eagle on drums, and Eric Martin as the lead singer. In 1989, they moved to Seattle, WA. Here, Eric Martin left the band. The remaining members decided to continue as a four piece with Eddie Spaghetti taking over the vocalist role. They recorded numerous singles for various small labels before being signed to Sub Pop. A sampling of these are collected on the 1992 release The Songs All Sound the Same. Their first album with Sub Pop, The Smoke of Hell, was released in 1992. In 1995, guitarist Rontrose Heathman temporarily left the band. He was replaced by Rick Sims of the band Didjits for the recording of their third album, The Sacrilicious Sounds of the Supersuckers, and the subsequent tour. He returned for the recording of their fourth album, Must've Been High, which, as their first country album, was a major turning point for the band. Their fifth and final album with Sub Pop was their greatest hits release, 1999's How the Supersuckers Became the Greatest Rock and Roll Band in the World. That same year they released their fifth studio album, The Evil Powers of Rock 'N' Roll. In 2001, the band formed their own record label, Mid-Fi Recordings. In addition to numerous singles and several live recordings, the band released their sixth studio album, Motherfuckers Be Trippin' on this label. In May of 2005, they released the singles collection Devil's Food. The Supersuckers latest release is a 2006 EP called Paid.

Johnny Dowd (born March 29, 1948 in Fort Worth, Texas) is an American alternative country musician from Ithaca, New York. Typical of his style are experimental, noisy breaks in his songs and strong gothic (in the sense of dark and gloomy) elements in the lyrics as well as in the music. There is also a strong undercurrent of black humor and the absurd in his work.

The Gourds, an American alternative country band, formed in Austin, Texas in 1994. Evolving, in part, from the Picket Line Coyotes and the Grackles, the Gourds original line-up consisted of Kevin Russell (vocals, guitar, mandolin), Jimmy Smith (vocals, bass, guitar), Claude Bernard (accordion, guitar, vocals), and Charlie Llewellin (drums, percussion). Llewellin was replaced by current drummer Keith Langford shortly after the second album was recorded, and multi-instrumentalist Max Johnston officially joined after being invited to play on their third album. By the following album, Johnston had also become the band's third songwriter, though Russell and Smith have continued to share the bulk of those responsibilities. Despite a sizable amount of original material, the Gourds are probably best known for a song they did not write, and for which they initially did not receive credit. A full twelve years after its live debut, fans can still be heard calling out for the band's cover version of Snoop Dogg's "Gin and Juice", often before they have even taken the stage. This has led some to consider it an albatross, but the band continues to play the crowd pleaser, adding various impromptu covers to its mid-section as a way of expanding its appeal. While the Gourds studio efforts have all been well received, their high-energy live performances and constant touring have earned them the reputation of a band that must be seen to be appreciated.
