apparat

apparat
Apparat is a German electronic musician (Sascha Ring) living in Berlin who since 1999 has been running the Berlin based record label "Shitkatapult" together with T.Raumschmiere. Starting out with dance floor-oriented techno, he later started to create ambient music and recently became "more interested in designing sounds than beats". Recent music is closer to glitch, clicks and cuts or idm, accompanied with classical string instruments and other sounds. He works with his own tool created in MAX/MSP framework. Effects are controlled by midicontroller. "While sensitively orchestrating his chamber musical qualities on his records or in his studio, his live performances are known for kicking some ass!" From Shitkatapult website He collaborated with Ellen Allien in 2003 on the album Berlinette, and again in 2006 on the album Orchestra of Bubbles.

Djuma Soundsystem

Djuma Soundsystem
Djuma Soundsystem is Norwegian Mikkas and Danish Lars B who both live in Copenhagen. They met first time when they DJed at one of Copenhagens longest running club nights, the Sunday club "Offline", and quickly became unseparable friends and production partners. Mikkas and Lars' producer career started in a for club music producers somewhat odd way; In 2001 they composed and produced the music for the ballet "Off The Record" for The Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen. A ballet that merged classical music with elements of new electronic genres. The story of Djuma Soundsystem began a couple of years later in 2003, when Mikkas and Lars B decided to make a tune under the following dogma: to make an ethnical sounding club banger, that wasn't cheesy!? Mikkas and Lars B has remixed, produced and coproduced tracks under many different monikers, such as Ben Horn and Def Jaguar. They have just finished remixing a track for Philipe Cohen Solal (Gotan Project) under their Ben Horn moniker, for his Moonshine sessions project on Ya Basta records and are releasing as Def Jaguar on Danish based label Big Star records and IO in UK. As DJs Lars and Mikkas has been playing for over a decade, all over Europe, and residencies includes Vega, Culture Box and Rust in Copenhagen. Their sound as producers is very varied, ranging from balearic disco vibes to straight up slammers, but always with a focus on grooves and recogniseable melody lines.

aMute

aMute
aMute is a project born in the mind of Jérôme Deuson. He was born somewhere near Namur and raised somewhere in the south of Belgium. He was given his first guitar at the age of 11 and never really looked back since. He followed the well known path of playing in a couple of bands, moving to the big city, playing in a couple of more bands, few concerts, so on. In 2002 Jérôme started his solo project called aMute, a compromise between his passion for so called "Post Rock", with its traditionally sad melodies, and his taste of all glitches and treatment softwares. After two albums released on the Canadian label Intr-Version Records, aMute has now become a band. Samuel Volan, Thomas Venegoni and Julien Paschal teamed with Deuson to deliver the message of their brand new album "Infernal Heights For A Drama" out on Stilll in March 2009.

Get ready for the biggest bass in the game, as Hulk is here to SMASH! Claw emerged in Houston, Texas in 1999, at the age of 15. He was well-received from the start, making contacts with the local rave DJ's of the time. By the time he was 16, he was playing at some of Houston's bigger underground parties and weekly events. After graduating high school, he moved to Florida to pursue music as a profession and began playing at weekly events. After finishing his music engineering studies at Fullsail in Orlando, Claw made his way across New York working at numerous studios with various engineers and producers. He then moved to Las Vegas to pursue his record label with Trillbass, which he co-founded. Claw also just did an official Dubstep remix for Wu-Tang that debuted at # 7 on the ITunes Hip Hop chart, and is currently back living in NY to run his art gallery and record label ventures. Richie August started out mixing Drum & Bass and Hip Hop in the south-side of Chicago in 1998. He began producing his own tracks in 2000, alongside Chicago Hip Hop artist, "Skope The Lyrical MC". In early 2008, Richie got his first taste of dubstep and It didn't take him long before he was refining his sound and signing his first EP of tracks to Betamorph Recordings. The Death Proof EP came out and solidified Richie and his unique blend of teeth rattling bass and Hip Hop edge in the Dubstep community. As soon as you hear a new Richie August tune, you know it's his. Since then, he's been making dancefloor smashing hits, remixing, collaborating, and is up to over 15 releases on various labels, with no slowing down in sight.

Gaz

Gaz
Being interested in electronic music generally, absorbing everything that sounded good, Gaz decided to start DJ'ing in 2004. But it was not until 2008 he settled down as a dubstep DJ. He feels the dubstep genre is influenced by all kinds of music. And that's what he loves so much about it. So it's obvious his sets mainly contain dubstep tunes. But having played drum 'n bass and house in his earlier years, Gaz carefully selects the music that fits the moment. In other words: You'll never hear him play the same set twice, unless it's on your iPod. Deep baselines, finger licking beats, crazy wobbles; Gaz ties them together with fast transitions into a smooth flow. At the moment Gaz is also working on some material of his own. One track 'Annalyse' has already been digitally released and more songs are on their way. Gaz himself describes them as dubstep tunes walking the line of techno, house, breaks, 2step/uk garage and drum & bass. But his passion for dubstep doesn't end there. Gaz, living in the city of Ghent, teamed up with local club Decadance to make sure you can enjoy the finest dubstep on the dance floor. The 'Rotation' parties take place every 2nd and 4th wednesday of the month. One Belgian headliner, a talent on the rise and Gaz himself will get your feet moving. Sometimes an international DJ joins the line-up. Previous guests have been: Tes la rok, Headhunter, Peverelist and RSD.
